Xavier's Labour Relations Institute (XLRI) - Jamshedpur has been ranked by national magazines as one of the top 5 business schools in India. FACTS
  • XLRI was founded in 1949 by Fr. Quinn Enright, S.J. in the Steel City of Jamshedpur. Fr. Enright visualized XLRI to be a partner in the liberation and development journey of the independent India with a vision of "renewing the face of the earth".

  • The College has a centrally air-conditioned Library divided into sections for reading, book stocking and a section where students are free to access the computers and other required electronic gadgets in their curriculum.

  • The Institute focuses a big deal on the IT infrastructure. A number of workshops and seminars are organized for the benefit of the students as well as for faculties to keep them updated with the changing trends in the IT industry.

  • Sports is taken seriously in the institute; to encourage students different courts have been developed along with a fully equipped gym available to all students.

  • There are four buildings for students residence, two each for men and women respectively. The total capacity of each building is approximately 100 students.

  • The Institute has a fully equipped auditorium with a total capacity of 150 students.

Trivia
  • A three day fest is organized by the student committee which brings the academic circle and the industry figure heads on a platform to discuss issues of mutual importance.

  • The students play a major role in the placement procedure after the completion of the course being the member of the Placement Committee.

    Few other students committee include:

      Asterix (strategic workshops),
      Finax (Finance workshops),
      Socrates (XLRI network administration),
      POISE (student exchange),
      External Linkages (EL),
      SAPPHIRE (Students' Association for Promotion of Personnel Management Human resource management and Industrial Relations).

  • Alumni association is an integral part of the institute. 'The Excellers' a newsletter dedicated to the ex-students is published every quarter.

  • Alumni meets are held every year around May-June in various cities in India as well as in the USA, UK and Dubai.
